Since version 1.1.1, open Settings › Appearance to choose green, blue, teal, purple, or rose. The choice takes effect immediately and is saved on this device. Settings › App Language opens Linkalyst’s page in the system Settings app, where you can change its language.

No. Linkalyst has no account system and no sign-in. Nothing needs to be registered or recovered.

On your device, in the app’s own container under Documents/Reports, which you can also open in the Files app. They are not sent to us and we have no way of reading them. When device backup is turned on they are included in it, whether the backup goes to iCloud or to a computer. If you turn on “Sync Reports” in Settings (part of Linkalyst Plus), the report files move to the app’s iCloud Drive folder instead and Apple’s iCloud keeps them in step across your devices; the setting is off by default, and stars and tags stay on each device. Without Linkalyst Plus, reports already in iCloud can still be opened and new ones are saved on the device.

No. The Throughput Test carries a bounded synthetic payload over a single TCP connection to a test peer you run yourself on the same network. It is not your Wi-Fi link rate and not the bandwidth your provider sells you — it is one connection over one path at one moment. To measure your connection to the internet, use the Internet Speed Test.

How long it takes to open a TCP connection to port 443 of each service in the group: the name is resolved with the system DNS, three connections are made, and the middle time is shown. It reaches that service’s server nearest to you, so it says nothing about video quality or download speed. A service that can’t be reached from your region or network shows “Can’t connect”, which is not an app fault. The list is fixed and results are not saved.

By default the test runs on Linkalyst’s own global speed test network, answered by the test server nearest to you. The server needs your public IP address to answer, does not log test requests and publishes nothing; the result stays in your Records. Only requests blocked as abuse are kept for a limited time in a security log. In Settings you can switch to Measurement Lab (M-Lab), a research consortium that publishes every test as open data under CC0, including your public IP address and the time of the test; Linkalyst then runs at most 40 M-Lab tests in 24 hours and sends M-Lab nothing else. Either way, Linkalyst explains the provider before your first test and starts a test only when you tap Start. See the Privacy Policy.

The mean absolute difference in RTT between consecutive requests that both received an on-time reply. A timeout breaks the chain rather than being bridged, and no value is shown when there is no such pair. It is not RFC 3550 RTP jitter, and it is not one-way delay variation.

iOS discloses the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and access point identifier (BSSID) only to apps with that permission, and those two values are useful when diagnosing roaming. It is requested only when you tap “Read Wi-Fi Name” under Network › Network Info. The app never reads or stores your latitude and longitude.

It removes all ads and unlocks device scan in Discover, Batch Scan in Port Check, resolver comparison in DNS Lookup, latency tests with several targets or over UDP, report comparison, report-file export beyond the first free one, iCloud sync and five more share card styles; Plus features added later are included. Everything else, including the Internet Speed Test, share cards in the three basic styles and importing reports, stays free. It supports Family Sharing; the current price is shown on the App Store. To restore it on another device, open Settings › Linkalyst Plus in the app and choose “Restore Purchases”. Billing and refunds are handled by Apple.

Because no reply arrived in time. Linkalyst marks a request as timed out, failed or cancelled, and a run that did not finish normally as stopped or interrupted, rather than inventing a result; a refused connection counts as failed, with a note saying so. A value it did not get is shown as a dash, not as zero.
